Ultimate Groove offers instruction by some of the most accomplished women in telemark skiing. PSIA certified instructors as well as former World Cup Team members will share with you their knowledge of telemark skiing and overall health and fitness. Lets meet them...

 


Heather Paul
- founder of Ultimate Groove, is a two-time National Telemark Champion, a former World Cup Team member and a bronze medal winner in the 1995 World Championships. Heather works with several industry companies to promote the sport of telemark skiing worldwide. She keeps busy organizing, marketing and instructing all the UG events nationwide. Heather has skied many first descents in the Chugach mountains of Alaska, and more recently the Chinese Altai Mountains. Heather is a design board member and athlete for Marmot and is part of the K2 women's telemark research & design team. Heather Talbot Peterson- is a former Rocky Mountain Telemark Series Champion and avid tele racer. Heather offers Ultimate Groove a well rounded instruction perspective, accomplished in all disciplines; gates, bumps & steeps. Her recent efforts have been put towards creating "Northern Lights Stained Glass," her own business based in Crested Butte.


Kirsten Fraser- learned to ski as a child but fell in love with tele skiing almost immediately. She has spent time working as an instructor and patroller at Sugarbush in Vermont and now enjoys spending her time exploring the front and backcountry around New Hampshire. Kirsten works guiding wilderness trips for teens when she is not out skiing. She also is a massage therapist in Crested Butte. Find her at massagecrestedbutte.com.


Tori Burke - Tori has been an Ultimate Groove Instructor since 2002 and is now coordinating the East Coast camps. She grew up racing USSA in New England and moved to Montana to continue in college. Here she discovered her passion for telemark skiing and traveled and competed in the US Telemark Freeski Series. She has worked extensively in the ski industry with manufacturers and is now Marketing for a small New England ski area where she hopes to foster the same passion for skiing and the outdoors in her daughters Sierra and Mckenzie.


Tracey Schwartz - Tracey grew up skiing in Stowe, VT, where she fell in love with all things mountain.She moved to Colorado in 1986, and volunteered for the National Ski Patrol through college. She gained her PSIA teaching certification in the 90's and has taught skiing at Jackson Hole, Arizona Snowbowl and Mt Crested Butte. She has worked as an Outdoor and Environmental educator for over 20 years.She is dedicated to growing healthy food and lives on an organic orchard with her husband and two children in Western Colorado.

Marta Downing - Marta's passion for skiing began in the Catskills at Wyndam riding the Blue Goose as a three year old. Those first feelings of freedom on the slopes have sent her La Grave, Chamonix, British Columbia and all over the mountain ranges of the US. A wall street refugee since 2008 Marta has traveled to Haiti for with relief efforts, become American Avalanche Institute Level II certified, worked in the outdoor industry and began teaching with Ultimate Groove in 2010.
